Dhahran is the headquarters city of Saudi Aramco and home to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, which gives its school market a distinctly engineering and energy-sector character. Dhahran Ahliyya Schools, founded in the 1960s, is the best-known private campus in the city, and the wider Eastern Province corridor adds dozens more options within a short drive.
The Aramco residential community operates its own schools for employees' children, so families outside that entitlement usually choose between private and international schools in Dhahran itself and in neighbouring Al Khobar and Dammam. Plan around the King Fahd Road commute if you enrol across city lines.
