How to request deletion
Send an email from the address registered on your account to:
With "Account deletion request" in the subject line. You do not need to provide a reason — requests are honoured without question.
If you signed in with Google or Facebook and don't remember the linked email, send your request from whichever email address is on the provider account you used to sign up.
What gets deleted
- Your name, email address, and hashed password.
- Your provider link to Google / Facebook — we remove the link on our side; your account on the provider itself is managed by you directly with them.
- Any reviews you've submitted, including their metadata.
- Your in-app activity log (name changes, registration history, etc.).
What we may retain
For limited legal or operational reasons, we may retain:
- Aggregate security logs (e.g., IP buckets in our rate limiter) for up to 30 days after deletion.
- De-identified aggregate usage statistics (e.g., total review count for a school) — without any personal linkage to you.
- Backups, which are purged on our normal retention cycle (within 30 days).
Timeline
We honour deletion requests within 30 days of receipt. Most deletions complete within 7 days; the extended window covers full removal from backups.
After deletion
Once your account is deleted:
- You will no longer be able to sign in with the same email.
- Your reviews are permanently removed from the site.
- If you want to return later, you can register a fresh account with the same email.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. Make sure you've saved anything you want to keep before submitting the request.
